After discovering the joys of relaxing in their garden during the Covid-19 lockdown, Viv and Graham have decided to sell Deepdale Café and enjoy their retirement.
They’ve run the busy café with Sophie for more than 6 years, in which time they’ve fed royalty, the famous, and those who love the North Norfolk Coast.
Deepdale Café is at the heart of Dalegate Market, the busy independent shopping centre in Burnham Deepdale. With an all year round footfall, surrounded by lovely independent shops, with lots of indoor and outdoor seating, the café is a brilliant opportunity for new owners with energy and enthusiasm.
“I’ve loved welcoming visitors to eat and drink at Deepdale Café, over the last 6 years. The enforced rest from the lockdown made me realise that it was time to wear my slippers more often, enjoy my garden, and pass on Deepdale Café to someone with more energy than we have.” Viv, owner and manager of Deepdale Café. “Amazing to think we’ve served so many meals in the last 6 years. Going to miss the buzz and seeing the customers, but time to move on and enjoy other things.”
With the busy campsite and hostels next door, the independent shops around the site, bus stops, the Norfolk Coast Path, St Mary’s Church and the harbour of Brancaster Staithe all on the doorstep, the café is in a fabulous location on the A149 coast road. Approximately half-way between Hunstanton and Wells-next-the-Sea.
The press & media report that staycations are set to boom post Covid-19, so the café is in the perfect place to enjoy Britain’s new found love of its own countryside and coastline.
“It’ll be sad not to have my regular chats with Viv, when wandering the site. They’ve built up a good quality café, which our customers on the campsite love, particularly breakfast, setting you up for a day of walking or birdwatching in this beautiful part of the country. We wish Viv and Graham a very happy retirement, Sophie the best of luck in her new venture, and look forward to working with the new owners.” Jason Borthwick, landlord of the café & Dalegate Market, and managing director of the next door Deepdale Backpackers & Camping.
Graham has hosted lunchtime live music at the café most months, their take-away fish & chips are simply delicious, seriously tasty selection of fresh cakes are always available, and there is an ever growing programme of events held in the village. There is a great buzz to Burnham Deepdale, a very special corner of the North Norfolk Coast.
