4.30pm Talk - 7.30pm Lighting of the Beacon
You are invited to join the community for the commemorations of the 80th anniversary of VE Day.
4.30pm - Talk at Brancaster Village Hall
Local historian Geoff Wingrove will give an illuminated talk about life on the home front during the war at 5pm. Doors open at 4.30pm so you can come and enjoy some tunes from the past and enjoy complimentary tea and cake.
7.30pm - Lighting The Beacon at Barrow Common
The community are invited to bring their picnics, beverages of choice and picnic blankets up to the common to dine al fresco. At 8.30pm The Brancaster Community Choir led by Mark Stockton will perform, speeches will be made and beacon will be lit. Patriotic dress encouraged. Parking is limited as the field below is ploughed and planted but please follow the parking attendants directions. Please keep all dogs on a lead to keep them out of the picnics!
